How come my face is dry when wearing a protective mask?
1. The skin barrier contains lipids called ceramides, which act as a shield from the outside that maintains natural moisture in the skin
2. Repeated mask wearing can cause friction and irritation that deplete ceramides, causing the
natural skin barrier of the face to become dry and damaged
3. Oil, sweat, dirt, and makeup can build up under the fabric, leading to rashes and acne
breakouts
4. Those with preexisting dermatologic conditions can experience worsening symptoms and
additional dryness
